Leonardo Barcelos & Hélio Lauar
Born in Belo Horizonte, Leonardo Xavier Barcelos Costa is a social communications graduate of Minas Gerais Federal University. In 2003 he post graduated in Communication, New Technologies and Hypermedia from UNIBH. As a director, photographer, scriptwriter and editor, he made over 10 experimental and documentary videos that featured in important shows and festivals around the world. He also made over than 12 video works about some of Minas Gerais’ plastic artists, such as Yara Tupynambá, Márcio Sampaio and José Alberto Nemer. At the moment he is involved in the production of his first feature-film, a documentary about the bulding "Balança mas não cai". He latest short-film called "Nacos de Pele", a partnership with Hélio Lauar, has been shown in New York, Havana, Geece, Bogota, Paris and Tel-Aviv.
Hélio Lauar, medical doctor, psychiatrist, self-educated in arts and visual arts. Interested in literature and poetry. Participated in several collective and individual exhibitions of art. Coordinator of the Vídeo Sessions at the Brazilian Congress of Psichiatry. Together with Leonardo Barcelos made the videos God’s Bride and Bites of Skin.
